River City Appliance Fixed My Stove

When we bought our home over ten years ago, it came with a stainless steel Amana gas oven and range that had already served a long time in the kitchen. The stove looked good, however, and as new homeowners we did not have the money to replace it, no matter how old it was. No Warranty is No Problem

The stove was well beyond the warranty period, so any repairs were up to us. The first thing that went wrong was when a couple of the burner igniters became worn out and quit. Pulling out matches or a lighter to ignite a burner gets old fast! Josh from River City Appliance replaced the broken igniters, checked the others, and also cleaned out all of the burner jets so that the range would cook efficiently. Right away, that was a huge improvement in the kitchen.

Some time later, our range was working fine, but the control panel for the oven completely quit. Pushing the digital buttons did absolutely nothing. Because the stove was so old, new replacements for the control panel were no longer in stock anywhere. Instead of searching for a used one on eBay, Josh recommended a repair company in the Midwest. After he removed the control panel, I mailed it out to be repaired. It came back well-packaged a couple of weeks later and at a very reasonable price, well below what a used or refurbished part would have cost me. River City’s experience and willingness to think “outside the box” saved my family hundreds of dollars in replacement costs with that simple idea. Since Josh had showed me how easy it would be to reinstall the part, I completed the repair on my own.
