River City Appliance Fixed My Microwave Oven
I have relied on River City Appliance Repair to fix my household appliances for a long time. To date, they have repaired our dishwasher, microwave oven, the stove, and the washing machine. Fortunately, my refrigerator has never failed me, but I should probably keep quiet about that. Right now, I would like to tell you about the repairs they performed on my microwave.
Kitchen Fires Are Ugly
We have an over the range microwave and one day it was literally in the line of fire when we had a cooking disaster on the stovetop. The fire did not last long, but the cleanup afterwards certainly did. Let me write that fire extinguishers really spray a lot of fine, dusty chemicals all over the place.
The vent fan that is part of the microwave was on at the time, so the air intake grill sucked in too much heat and melted. The push buttons also looked horrible. Nevertheless, the microwave still seemed to work, but I wanted to have a technician from River City Appliance come check it out.
Right away Josh had a solution for the number pad. He peeled off the melted plastic film covering the numbers and simply replaced it with a generic new one. Not quite good as new, but cheaper than buying a new microwave or replacing the entire part. The air intake grill was easy to take off and replace, but it needed to be ordered from the manufacturer. Josh put in the order and within the week a replacement was delivered to our house and I installed it myself. The microwave was saved!
When Door Sensors Fail
That same microwave kept working fine past its warranty, but then just quit working properly. The buttons were okay, the light came on and went off, but the microwave generator would not work. Was it time for a replacement?
Josh once again came out and immediately pulled out the tools to examine the door latch. Although the door was shutting just fine, the sensor for indicating that the door was indeed shut was no longer sending a signal to the microwave controller. Josh had the sensor part in his van, it was not at all expensive, and once again I did not need to worry about taking down and replacing a heavy over the range microwave! For me, that was money well spent.
River City Appliance Gets to the Point
If you ask me what I like best about River City Appliance, besides the pleasant banter when they visit, it’s the fact that they come in the door, hear about the problem, and get right to work. I have never seen them ponder what to do next or wonder what could possibly be wrong with my appliance. They just seem to know, and that’s the benefit of hiring an experienced repair technician.
Sure, I could spend hours YouTubing a solution and trying this or that and reading articles and posts and then dismantling my appliance, finding a part on the Internet, and then putting everything back together. The problem with this DIY process, and I know this from experience too, is that in the end I lose a bunch of time and still have to pay for the new part. Overall, I prefer calling River City Appliance and you probably should too.
